The race was already fully booked at its premiere in 2012 with around 3,000 participants; it has grown steadily since then. In 2019, 12,000 runners took part - a new record! In the coronavirus years, the option of running the run virtually via the viRace app. Participants in the "real" race can expect a completely car-free, flat 5.3 km circuit via Univiertel, Göggingen and Haunstetten. Along the route, several music groups and numerous spectators cheer on the runners. Before and after the run, there will be a a variety of supporting programs: Massages, competitions and much more. In addition to runners, walkers are also very much appreciated!
Even if the focus of the event is naturally on sporting competition: it is also worthwhile for non-runners. Surely you want to cheer on your colleagues, admire the creative costumes of some participants, or simply enjoy the atmosphere along the route? You definitely shouldn't miss the open-air party featuring the live band "SM!LE" and the award ceremonies for the fastest runners and teams, as well as the most original team outfits and other special awards.
