Change in venue for GOLF EUROPE

27.12.2011

The golf industry will be meeting up at GOLF EUROPE to keep up to date with trends and developments at both national and international level in the golfing world. There will be golf equipment, clothing and accessories for golfers, golf shop fittings on display as well as displays for indoor golf, a golf driving range and an indoor putting green, golf-related tourism, golf literature as well as golf newspapers and publishers dealing with the golfing world. The trade fair will be backed up with a wide-ranging schedule of events, seminars and workshops hosted by international experts as well as a get-together for the industry.

Klaus Dittrich, chairman of the board of management at Messe München GmbH, has this to say about the new venue, "We are pleased that GOLF EUROPE has found a new home and we are certain that it will go from strength to strength at Messe Augsburg. The Messe Augsburg site has the space the golfing community needs and this means that it can provide the right setting for a compact event plus a certain exclusivity. In addition to this, golf is popular in the Augsburg area and the proximity of the trade fair is an important factor when approaching this target group".

The head of Messe Augsburg, Gerhard Reiter, managed to win over the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) of Germany, the umbrella organisation for all professional golfers in Germany as a partner with the professional experience and expertise to provide strategic assistance with organising the event. "We are very pleased that GOLF EUROPE has found a new home in Augsburg and that it has found a sound partner to take the concept hitherto successful over so many years forward into the future. We are sure that it will continue to shape it to meet future requirements too," is what Stefan Quirmbach, President of PGA in Germany had to say. "We are very pleased to be involved as a partner in GOLF EUROPE and we shall be contributing our expertise at the new venue." GOLF EUROPE last drew attention to its role as a leading European trade fair for golf from 26 to 28 September 2010. More than 3,600 international trade visitors from 45 countries came to keep up to date with the latest trends in golf on the three days over which the trade fair was held.

Assuming responsibility for GOLF EUROPE means that Messe Augsburg has now taken over two events from Munich, since the "Jagen und Fischen" (Hunting and Fishing) trade fair changed its venue at the beginning of the year and was held in Augsburg for the first time from 19 to 22 January 2012.  By taking over responsibility for staging these trade fairs Messe Augsburg is making a name for itself as a trade fair organiser and it will continue to specialise in high quality specialist and niche trade fairs.
